Common questions
What are the DGCA exam dates for 2026?+
DGCA has scheduled four Regular flight-crew sessions in 2026: 10 to 14 March, 16 to 20 June, 22 to 26 September and 15 to 19 December. Alongside them are eight three-day OLOD sessions, running in January, February, April, May, July, August, October and November. All dates come from DGCA's published Programme of Examinations 2026 on the Pariksha portal.
What is the difference between a Regular exam and an OLOD exam?+
The Regular session is the main sitting, held four times a year over five days, with the subject papers spread across the week. OLOD stands for On Line On Demand Examination, an extra three-day sitting held eight times in 2026 for flight crew and AME candidates. It exists so you do not have to wait months for the next Regular session to clear a backlog paper. Fees and paper eligibility differ, so confirm the current rules on Pariksha before applying.
Are these DGCA exam dates final?+
No. DGCA explicitly prints them as tentative and subject to change in the case of gazetted holidays, festivity and reasons beyond the examination office's control. The programme tells candidates to check their respective notice board on the Pariksha portal for the latest information. Treat this calendar as your planning skeleton, and confirm on the portal before booking travel or paying any fee.
Why are the FIR/AFIR and FATA exams not shown here?+
They are left out on purpose. DGCA's published programme also lists twelve FIR/AFIR sessions (for the flight instructor rating) and the FATA examination (for foreign aircrew, conducted twice a month). Neither is sat by a CPL or ATPL candidate working through the standard ground exams, so including them would only add noise. This calendar lists only the Regular and OLOD flight-crew sittings.
Can I carry a calculator or flight computer into the DGCA exam?+
Per DGCA's general instructions, candidates may be allowed to use navigation computers and scientific calculators without multiple memory for the Air Navigation and composite papers such as PPLG and CPLCG, though you may not exchange these devices with other candidates. Everything else with memory is banned even switched off: mobile phones, electronic diaries, wrist watches and wrist bands of any type, pagers, pen scanners, recording or photographic devices.
When do I get my admit card, and when should I reach the centre?+
Your exact date, time and venue appear on your admit card, which DGCA advises you download from the Pariksha portal at least three days before the examination. Entry to the venue starts 60 minutes before your batch and closes 30 minutes before it begins, and you must be in your allotted seat by then. Carry the admit card together with an original photo ID such as a passport, Aadhaar, voter ID or a BCAS airport entry card.
