METAR / TAF decoder

Aviation weather reads like code until it clicks. Pull the latest report for any Indian airport, or paste a raw METAR, and read it back in plain English — with a flight-category read at a glance.

How it works

  1. 01

    Pick an airport

Tap an Indian airport or type any ICAO code to fetch its latest report.

  2. 02

    Read it in English

Wind, visibility, weather, cloud and pressure, decoded line by line.

  3. 03

    Know the category

A colour-coded VFR / MVFR / IFR / LIFR read tells you the conditions at a glance.

Common questions

Where does the live weather come from?+

From aviationweather.gov, the US NWS Aviation Weather Center, which serves global METAR and TAF data. Reports are cached for a few minutes.

Can I decode a report that isn't live?+

Yes — use the paste box to decode any raw METAR you have, even if the live service is unavailable. The decoder runs entirely in your browser.

Is this for actual flight planning?+

No. This is a learning and reference tool. For real flight planning, always use official briefing sources and current, authoritative data.
