How we make money
This site exists because pilot-training information in India is sold by people whose advice follows their commission. So it is only fair we are completely open about how we keep the lights on.
Everything that matters is free and will stay free: the lessons, the tools, the school data. We fund that in a few specific ways, listed here in full. If a page ever earns us money, you will find it explained on this page.
Affiliate links
For a few products aspirants genuinely need, such as aptitude-test practice platforms, headsets and study books, we use affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only ever link to things we would recommend anyway, and every affiliate link is labelled where it appears.
Right now there is exactly one: SkyTest, the aptitude preparation software, linked from our ADAPT and COMPASS preparation page. Buying through that link also gets you €10 off. On the same page we name the official Symbiotics ADAPT practice as the alternative, and we earn nothing from that one. We also spell out when you should buy neither, because an affiliate page that never says “keep your money” is just an advertisement.
Mentorship, which earns us nothing
If you want guidance on your own situation, we offer one-to-one pathway mentorship: a call, notes in writing afterwards, and follow-up when you need it. It is free, and it is worth being blunt about what that means. There is no fee, no upsell at the end of it, no premium version, and no school paying us to point you at them. It appears on this page precisely because it earns nothing: a page about how we make money should be just as clear about how we do not.
Sponsorships
Some tools may carry a clearly labelled sponsor, for example an education-loan provider next to the cost calculator. Sponsors pay for placement, never for a recommendation, and are always disclosed.
Our sister service, Be Airline Ready
BeAPilot is built by the team behind Be Airline Ready, a paid tool for pilots preparing for airline assessments. It has not launched yet, but it is coming soon. When it does, we will point you to it openly, because it is ours. You never need it to use anything here.
What we will never do
- Take a commission per student enrolled at a school.
- Let anyone pay to rank higher or bury a bad review.
- Run untargeted display ads from the very academies we assess.
- Put the core information behind a paywall.
